Questions about your postage estimate
How do I calculate postage by weight?
Weigh the complete item, including the envelope and inserts, then enter its weight, size class and quantity. The calculator applies the matching postage band. Size and weight both affect the rate.
Are the displayed rates current for my mailing?
Check the effective dates and source links shown with the results. Canada Post can change rates, so confirm the published rate for your mailing date before buying postage or preparing a bulk mailing.
Does my postcard count as oversize mail?
It depends on the card’s finished dimensions and weight. Use the postcard size guide to compare your design with Canada Post’s limits before selecting Standard or Oversize in the calculator.
How much postage does a large envelope need?
A large envelope may fall into oversize Lettermail, depending on its dimensions and weight. Weigh the envelope with its contents and select the matching size class. This calculator covers domestic letter mail, not parcels.
Is this an official Canada Post calculator?
No. This tool is provided by Direct Mailer and is not affiliated with Canada Post. Rates come from the published sources linked in the calculator. Bulk mailing requirements still apply.
