What is a direct mail MCP server?

An MCP server gives your AI assistant tools it can use on your behalf. Direct Mailer’s tools let it prepare postcards and letters, check addresses and costs, and report on your mailing activity.

Which AI assistants can I connect?

Setup instructions are available for Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. Connect using the server URL and your API key. Other remote MCP clients with bearer-key support may work, but compatibility needs checking.

Can the assistant send to an invalid address?

Every send includes address verification before printing. Your assistant can also check an address before preparing mail. Addresses that fail validation are excluded from mailing until you correct them.

Does my assistant need approval to send?

Live MCP sends wait for an owner or admin to approve them unless the key’s daily spend cap covers the cost. Test sends run without approval and never print or charge. Pending approvals expire after 24 hours.

Does using MCP change the mailing price?

You pay the same per-piece direct mail pricing whether you send through MCP, the API or the web app. Printing, addressing and postage are included. Start with a test key to try it free.

Can I see what my assistant did?

Yes. Every tool call appears in your request logs, and mail records keep the client that created them. Review the activity when you want to check a send or troubleshoot a request.
